The body itself holds the

answers to what we can do

next. We breathe, we listen to

our sensations, and we move

with what we feel. We do this as

a personal act of dignity and

as sociopolitical activism.

(Christine Caldwell)

The time to relax is when

you don't have time for it.

(Sydney J. Harris)

Each person comes into this

world with a specific destiny -

he has something to fulfill,

some message has to be

delivered, some work has

to be completed.

You are not here accidentally -

you are here meaningfully.

There is a purpose behind you.

The whole intends to do

something through you.

When someone is in crisis,

it's okay to say:

"I don't know what to say. I really want

to be here for you."

"I'm not sure how to help yet, but I'm

not going anywhere."

"This is hard. We'll get through it.“

You don't have to have all the answers

and it's worse to pretend you do.

(Whitney Goodman)

Reach out for a loved one's warm

hand and focus on the warmth and

love it emanates for a few minutes.

Rock your body a few times to

shake off some of the pent up

energy from grief, loss, and the

righteous anger you're feeling.

You're probably skipping breaths

while you're processing things, so

remember to take long breaths to

restore your nervous system.

Feel your feelings and know that

they are valid and worthy of feeling.

Stay close to people who

help you feel safe.

(Dr. Mariel Buqué)

Love and compassion are

necessities, not luxuries.

Without them humanity

cannot survive.

(Dalai Lama)

Run my dear,

from anything that may not

strengthen your precious

budding wings.

Run like hell my dear,

from anyone likely to put

a sharp knife into the sacred,

tender vision of your

beautiful heart.

You should say NO when:

- You don't have the energy, time,

   or resources to say yes.

- Saying yes isn't in alignment

   with your values.

- You know you're not the right

   person for the job.

- You've said yes before and

   it didn't go well.

- You need to set or hold a boundary

with the person making the request.

- Yes means you have to say no

   to something /someone that is

   more important to you.

- Saying yes will make you feel

   taken advantage of.

(Emily Sanders)

May we raise the bar for

how we live our lives.

May we ridiculously increase

the amount of peace, play,

creativity, beauty, love, and

joy in everything we do.

May we all sip from the

wisdom of our suffering.

And awaken with the courage

to share our stories that can heal

our inner and outer worlds.

(Tanya Markul)

Magic exists.

Who can doubt it,

when there are rainbows

and wildflowers,

the music of the wind and

the silence of the stars?

Anyone who has loved

has been touched by magic.

It is such a simple and

such an extraordinary part

of the lives we live.

(Nora Roberts)

You are.

You have been.

You will be, forever.

Stardust and planets,

fossils and forests.

You have been so many things,

my love;

Don't you remember?

You are not a stranger here.

(Xan Oku)

You can't force loyalty,

some people will always

let you down.

Everybody won't always be

who you want them to be.

I'm never perfect,

but I'm always genuine,

and I've realized...

People are consistent with who

they want to be consistent with.

They're true to who

they want to be true to.

They're loyal to who

they want to be loyal to.

It's all about choices.

So in my life, every excuse just

gets you closer to an exit -

And its no love lost, I just choose

not to waste my time

with the games...

We can be cool,

we just can't be close.

(Rob Hill Sr.)

It’s normal to have old

childhood wounds re-open

in stressful times like these.

Just take it as a sign that

you need to work on healing.

It’s NOT a sign of

weakness or failure.

(Peg Streep)

We think sometimes we’re

only drawn to the good,

but we're actually drawn

to the authentic.

We like people who are real

more than those who hide

their true selves under layers

of artificial niceties.

(Elisabeth Kubler-Ross)

Be the love

you never received.

(Rune Lazuli)

I think everything in life is art.

What you do. How you dress.

The way you love someone,

and how you talk.

Your smile and your personality.

What you believe in,

and all your dreams.

The way you drink your tea.

How you decorate your home.

Or party. Your grocery list.

The food you make.

How your writing looks.

And the way you feel. Life is art.

(Helena Bonham Carter)

The same intelligence that

grows trees from seeds,

that lets birds fly,

that waves the ocean

and gives birth to new stars -

that same intelligence

also breathes your breath,

beats your heart, and

heals your wounds.

(Annie Kagan)

I will never have this version

of me again.

Let me slow down and

be with her.

(Rupi Kaur)

Growth is when we tolerate

the sadness around an ending

instead of using it as

a reason to go back.

Growth is when we tolerate

the resistance around change

instead of using it as

a reason not to do it.

Growth is when we tolerate

the discomfort around boundaries

instead of using it as

a reason not to set them.

(Tory Eletto)

There will be painful moments

in your life that will change

your entire world in a matter of

minutes. These moments will

change you. Let them make you

stronger, smarter and kinder.

But don't you go, and become

someone that you're not.

Cry. Scream if you have to.

Then straighten out that crown,

and keep moving.

(Erin Van Vuren)

Just a reminder that when

your soul is speaking to you

and saying this is the way,

you won't always have the words

to explain it, and it won't always

make logical sense.

But, it will almost feel like

déjà vu, like you've been

there before.

So, when this deep knowing

makes its way into your life,

don't let yourself or anyone else

talk you out of it.

This is your way.

(Caleb Campbell)

The universe within you

is greater than the world

around you, and I believe

that is how you have kept

hope so alive.

(D. Antoinette Foy)

When your trauma response is

activated you might experience:

• Feeling stuck like you can't move or act

• Feeling numb and unaffected

• Feeling shaky, confused, foggy

• Paranoid thinking

• Hopelessness, helplessness, and despair

• Overfunctioning - getting things done, taking

care of others

• Taking on the role of the rescuer while

neglecting yourself

• Being drawn to fear-based explanations

• Being drawn to anything that gives you a sense

of control

• Regressing on issues you had previously healed

(Dr. Vassilia Binensztok)

For some, Mother's Day may feel enjoyable or celebratory, and others may find the day to be complicated.

Some may find it dreadful, or painful, or lonely.

Days designed to celebrate caregivers likely remind us of our own upbringing, our current parenthood, our future plans to parent, our inability to have children, our ongoing wounds related to childhood, or our decision to remain childfree.

No matter what this day brings for you, it's valid, because you're valid.

Sometimes the best way to spend Mother's Day is honoring all of the ways you have cared for, and nurtured yourself.

To those of you for whom Mother's Day is challenging, I see you.

(Danica Harris)

To many people, spirituality becomes a sort of crutch used as a way of standing back up again in the face of life’s turmoil - and sometimes this is necessary.

We all need support at some time or another in our lives - but the problem comes when spirituality is used as a drug for which we become dependent on in order to bypass the darker elements of our lives.

(Aletheia Luna)

I'm taking back my body.

I left a long time ago

and moved up to my

head and lived there

so I wouldn't have to feel the fear.

I'm coming back home,

and slowly finding safety.

Thank you for your protection.

I'm ready to live fully.

To be embodied.

(Monique Koven)

The nitrogen in our DNA,

the calcium in our teeth,

the iron in our blood,

the carbon in our apple pies

were made in the interiors

of collapsing stars.

We are made of starstuff.

(Carl Sagan)

you're going to lose yourself

from time to time. come back.

come back to what your heart

knows. no matter how long

you've been gone, come back.

(The Better Man Project)

We can only be truly

successful at something

we're willing to fail at.

If we're unwilling to fail,

then we're unwilling to succeed.

(Mark Manson)

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,

some momentary awareness comes

as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,

who violently sweep your house

empty of its furniture,

still, treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out

for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame,

the malice, meet them at the door

laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.

because each has been sent

as a guide from beyond.

To be my own master.

Such a thing would be

greater than all the magic

and all the treasures

in all the world.
